Its a rape - AGAIN!

The rapists, they never even look at the age
They come in all kinds, juveniles, politician or a sage
Be it a sudden attack or longer, keeping the victims in a cage
Once in a while a rape makes to the front page
Then it breaks our apathy, we get into a rage
We pick up our pens, candles, walks, ready for a war to wage
Civil society will call for immediate action
The courts will give instruction
Police will look into the abduction
Then the real game will start
The arresting process will kick-start
Not knowing the rapist will them outsmart
Yes, the rapists will get their bail
The victim and her family will fail
To keep the culprits in jail
From one court to another, they have to run
The judgement will come, next is the higher court’s turn
And also, time and again the courts will adjourn
Years together, prove the rape again and again
The victims, they are not allowed to forget the pain
Seasons will change, summer, winter and then rain
As time flies, few months later
We, the society, forget, live happily ever after
Till another "front-page victim", another perpetrator!
